HAPPY 2014

So the last day of 2013 celebrations started the same way, i'm sure, that everyone else's did, and that was with a nap. Due to the fact we're all saving for travel, we all ended up working over new years so we weren't able to go away, but we were all happy to be together. We did not have high hopes for the night  which made the night a lot better than expected.

We had a nice family dinner of burnt pizza and garlic bread (how we're going to survive once we start flatting, I don't know) and for pudding we had strawberries, scorched almonds, brownie and ice cream. It wasn't the best, but we tried!

We popped in to a party for half an hour and then left after an incident with fireworks (the were shot under the table and exploded by everyones feet), which left us terrified for our lives. We originally planned to walk up Mt. Victoria to watch the fire works but decided that was too much effort and we weren't really fussed about the fireworks, so instead we went to an empty park to let out lanterns fly.

It took us a while to figure out how to make them work but we got there and i'm so glad we did, it was so nice to stand and watch them fly. As we let them go we said our new years resolutions and made a few soppy speeches about how lucky we were to have each other around.
After that we just drove around for bait, listening to music and yelling at people out the window (mature I know).

Although the night was not very eventful and we did not make a big deal out of it, like a lot of people do, it was wonderful to spend the night with my best friends and to actually voice how special they are to me. I'm very lucky to have them in my life and I feel like I don't tell them that enough.

I hope everyone's new years was exactly what they wanted it to be and that you got to spend it with the people you love.
Have a wonderful 2014 my friends,
Ellie xoxo
