HAMPTON COURT

Last week we were lucky enough to get some sunshine in London after what seems like a lifetime of dull, grey days. I've been here for 7 months now and I had still failed to visit Hampton Court which is so close to where I am living right now. Coming from New Zealand, which is a reasonably new country in the scheme of things, which in turn means we don't have a lot of history, it is mind blowing to come to England and visit a Palace where a King that I learnt about in school called home.

As it was a sunny day, I took it as an opportunity to wear minimal layers. I've struggled with the winter here, style wise, as I find my outfits tend to look very similar as I always chuck on the same coat and scarf over whatever I'm wearing, so it felt good to be able to escape that for a day.

My outfit was not the most exciting, but I felt very slick and put together. I've been working in a cafe for a while now and always dress very casual which also makes me looks younger, so I pounce on the opportunity, when not working, to dress up a bit and pop on a bit of lipstick. I always feel good about myself when I've put in a bit of effort. You can never go wrong with all black so that's what I went with. I had just bought (another) pair of black boots which I am in love with and thought a leather jacket would look great with them. I wore a bright red lipstick to contrast with the dark clothing that I am wearing.

I had a wonderful day out and am hoping for a lot more sunny days like today. I finally feel like it's warming up a bit.

Peace and love my friends,
Ellie xo
