SEA-YA LATER

Last night I said farewell to one of my good friends Grace, who is off to Perth to get some work and life experience in a place 1000x better than New Zealand. She had a pot luck type dinner at her house and everyone brought a dish.

I wasn't too sure about the dress code so this is what I came up with. It was a bit chilly so I opted for my leather pants which left me a bit heated by the end of the night. I bought these pants from a vintage shop, which used to be all things $5 or $10 so I scored these for $10! I originally was going to cut these in to shorts but I never got around it and I am so glad I didn't. They were a strange fit so I took them in down the legs to shape them a little bit.

I am wearing the bralette I made a couple weeks ago and a top that I made for a friend, but it is still at my house so I thought i'd give it a trial run. the fabric reminds me of a mermaid (hence the title, punny huh?) but I found out that it is VERY ichy where all the seams are which left me with sore armpits..

I'm so sad that Grace has left but I would have left her anyway. She is a great friend that I made at work and I hope we stay close.
Love, Ellie xoxo
